These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website at https://dev.acrespetresort.com and all pet care services provided by Acres Pet Resort ("Acres Pet Resort," "we," "us," or "our"). By using our Site or booking any service, you ("Client," "you") agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Services Offered

Acres Pet Resort provides the following services at our facility located at 10725 Hand Rd, Monroe, WA 98272:

Dog Boarding (overnight stays)
Doggy Daycare (daytime supervision and play)
Dog Grooming (bath, brush, cut, nails, ears, glands)
Golden Retriever Breeding Program (puppy sales)
Puppy Parties & Events
Facility tours by appointment

2. Reservations & Booking

2.1 How to Reserve

Reservations may be made by phone, email, or our online contact form. All reservations are confirmed in writing (email or text). A reservation is not finalized until you receive confirmation from us.

2.2 Tour Requirement

First-time boarding clients are required to schedule a facility tour and complete a temperament evaluation before their dog's first overnight stay. This is for your dog's safety and the safety of all other guests.

2.3 Deposit

Boarding reservations during peak periods (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, summer holidays) may require a 50% non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. Standard reservations may require a credit card on file.

3. Cancellation Policy

Boarding: 48 hours notice required for full refund of deposit. Cancellations within 48 hours forfeit the deposit.
Daycare: 24 hours notice required. Repeat last-minute cancellations may require a non-refundable deposit going forward.
Grooming: 24 hours notice required.
Holiday Boarding: 7 days notice required during Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and summer holidays.
Puppy Parties: 7 days notice required for full refund. Within 7 days: 50% refund. Within 48 hours: no refund.
Breeding Program: Puppy reservation deposits are refundable up until the puppy is 4 weeks old, after which they become non-refundable.

If we must cancel due to weather, illness, or facility issues, we will refund your full deposit or reschedule at your preference.

4. Vaccination & Health Requirements

All dogs entering our facility must have current vaccinations, with documentation provided before arrival:

Rabies — current and on file
DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvovirus) — current
Bordetella (kennel cough) — within last 12 months, and at least 7 days before arrival
Canine Influenza — recommended but not required

Puppies under 16 weeks must have completed their initial vaccination series. Dogs who appear sick on arrival may be refused service. If we suspect contagious illness during a stay, we reserve the right to isolate or send the dog home and notify other clients as needed.

5. Behavior & Aggression Policy

We welcome all breeds and sizes. However, we reserve the right to refuse service to dogs that:

Show aggression toward staff or other animals
Have a documented history of biting humans or other dogs
Cannot be safely housed in our facility
Are intact females in heat (during boarding)

If your dog becomes aggressive during their stay, we will contact you immediately and may require early pickup at your expense.

6. Veterinary Care & Emergencies

By using our services, you authorize Acres Pet Resort to:

Provide reasonable first aid for minor injuries
Transport your dog to our on-call veterinarian or your designated vet in case of medical emergency
Authorize necessary emergency medical treatment up to $500 without your prior consent
Make euthanasia decisions only with vet recommendation and best-effort to reach you first

You are responsible for all veterinary costs incurred for your dog, including emergency transportation. We will contact you immediately via your primary and emergency contact numbers in any medical situation.

7. Medications

We administer prescribed medications at no additional charge. You must provide:

Medication in original labeled container
Clear written instructions (dose, frequency, time of day)
Veterinarian contact information
Sufficient supply for the entire stay plus 2 extra doses

We do not administer injectable insulin or other complex injections; please discuss alternative arrangements before booking.

8. Property & Personal Belongings

You may bring your dog's bedding, toys, and food. We are not responsible for lost, damaged, or chewed personal items left with your dog. Please do not bring valuable or irreplaceable items.

9. Payment

Full payment is due at pickup unless other arrangements have been made in writing. We accept cash, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover), and Venmo/Zelle. Returned checks or declined cards incur a $35 fee. Past-due accounts (30+ days) may be subject to a 1.5% monthly late fee and collection.

10. Abandoned Animals

If your dog is not picked up within 7 days of the scheduled pickup date and we are unable to contact you, the dog will be considered abandoned. After reasonable attempts to reach you and any emergency contacts, we may transfer the dog to a local animal welfare organization at our discretion. You remain liable for all boarding fees and any associated costs.

11. Liability & Assumption of Risk

By using our services, you acknowledge and agree:

Dogs are unpredictable and may injure themselves or others, even with reasonable care
Group play and socialization carry inherent risks of minor scrapes, sprains, and altercations
You assume all risks of injury, illness, or death to your dog while in our care, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct by Acres Pet Resort
Acres Pet Resort's total liability for any claim is limited to the cost of services paid for the stay in question
You waive any claim for emotional distress, lost wages, or consequential damages

12. Photos & Marketing

We routinely take photos of dogs in our care for client updates and may use these photos on our website, Facebook, and other marketing materials. By using our services you grant us a non-exclusive, perpetual license to use these photos. If you do not wish for your dog to appear in public-facing marketing, please notify us in writing.

13. Breeding Program — Additional Terms

For Golden Retriever puppy purchases from our breeding program, the following additional terms apply:

Puppies are not released before 8 weeks of age
Health guarantee: 2 years against congenital genetic defects (replacement puppy or partial refund at our discretion)
Spay/neuter agreement may be required for pet-quality puppies
First right of return: If you can no longer keep the dog at any point in its lifetime, we will take the dog back at no charge (purchase price is non-refundable after 6 months)
No resale to third parties without our written consent

14. Website Use

You may use our Site for personal, non-commercial purposes only. You may not:

Copy, scrape, or republish our content without written permission
Use automated tools to access the Site
Interfere with site security or functionality
Use the Site to harass, defame, or violate the rights of others

15. Intellectual Property

All content on this Site (text, photos, graphics, logos) is owned by Acres Pet Resort or used with permission. The "Acres Pet Resort" name and logo are our trademarks.

16. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or our services shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Snohomish County, Washington. You agree to attempt mediation in good faith before initiating litigation.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

18. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The current version is always posted on this page with the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
